Easter Message

Dear friends,

photo by RONALYN SIA (CYO)The month of March has been both a challenging and learning experience for us at anluwage.com. It is a special month because of Holy Week. Ever since we went on the web in 2005, one of the ideas that propped up our minds was to have The Seven Last Words (TSLW) available to you, our readers. A mere 'wishful thinking', this project involved most colleagues and friends from all parts of the world.

This year's devotion is quite different as most of the reflection writers come from various ministries in the Philippines, personalities who have etched their names in their respective fields. We are truly grateful to all of them who took the time to share their thoughts on the words of Jesus. We are also thankful to His Eminence Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, Archbishop of Manila, for gracing the affair by his inspirational message.

Can I just mention that we have quite a huge number of visits to the web over Holy Week compared to the previous weeks of this month. This same pattern has been observed during the last 12 months. Thank you very much indeed to all individuals and communities who have taken part in TSLW and other Holy Week specials. At the moment, we have been received some positive feedback on this endeavour. We take to heart what Vladimir Reyes, our President, told us: The special feature (i.e. TSLW) is going to the next level year after year.

Talking about the next level, we recently have a new member of the Anluwage family. Please join me in welcoming Mark Rodney Vertido who was recently appointed News Writer for the web. Rodney, as he prefers to be called, is one of our reflection writers for TSLW 2008. We look forward to see more faces and new blood to be part of our apostolate.

In my New Year message, I have unveiled the web's vision and mission statements. Next month, key members of staff would meet to assess the web vis-a-vis these statements. Through our assessment we would be able to plan and implement a course of action which will make the web more relevant and responsive.

Please keep us in your prayers and, if you could, in your writings.

May the Risen Jesus, our real life (Colosians 3:4), grant you and your loved ones His Spirit that we could all continue to spread His Good News to the world.

On behalf of anluwage.com I wish you all a Happy Easter!

Yours in the Word-made-Flesh,

Pietro S Albano
Editor-in-Chief
