When Piet asked me to come up with an Anluwage prayer, I was deeply honored. It was another opportunity for me to praise the Lord. Though I normally start my prayers praising God, my extreme delight for this opportunity brought me to write the words, “leap for joy” and “shout praises”.
I consider serving the Lord as an opportunity, a blessing to be grateful for, to look forward for. This is the reason why the tone of the prayer is quite upbeat. I also thought of how dedicated the people are behind the Anluwage. Their commitment has inspired me to ask the Lord for continued guidance, to keep the gladness in our hearts as we serve Him and His Son with the help of the Holy Spirit. I pray with my heart that Anluwage will continue to exist as long as possible. And one thing that can help make that happen is if all of us in Anluwage will continue to find joy and meaning in doing our respective roles.
I hope that when we say the Anluwage prayer, we pray with our hearts, in an upbeat tone. There is excitement, there is faith and there is burning desire to receive what we are asking for.
May God bless us all!
