Christmas 2009 Message

ANLUWAGE.COMChristmas is a memorable time for most of us. My first memory of this blessed season was seeing a Nativity scene. Indeed, this is the most popular Christmas decor for it reminds us of the very core of what we are celebrating year after year: God was born in our midst.

We have often received this God-made-Man in various occasions. In a way, we become 'pregnant' with the Lord. The only natural thing to do is to bring Him forth in our many acts of kindness, words of encouragement, and deeds of love.

At Anluwage, each of us has brought forth Jesus from our hearts and into the hearts and minds of our readers. This month, I must admit, has been a busy one for us with the "Nine Gifts" devotion as our preparation for the Lord's Birth. Previous to that, our whole group raised funds for the victims of two destructive typhoons that hit the Philippines in October - the funds have now been turned over to GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc. who has been tasked to disburse the funds for school supplies to elementary school students who have lost these during the onslaught of the typhoons.

As we once again celebrate Christmas, let's approach the Nativity scene and renew our dedication to be the Infant Jesus' bearers in a world that has often denied and rejected the truth that He alone is its saviour.

Thank you for all your hardwork, support, and prayers to the web. We'll leave 2009 with a heart full of good memories and thanksgiving for all the wonders God has done for us. We'll welcome the New Year with hope and assurance that He is with us forever!

May Jesus, the King born for us, bless us all in our endeavours.

In behalf of the Editorial Board, I wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Christ-filled 2010!
